On 17 March Paul Dixey joined other experts from the area of finance and social media strategy to discuss in a panel session how social media has been used in their sectors, the challenges they have faced and how they have been overcome.
Pharmaceutical companies often complain that only their industry has to abide by so many strict rules and regulations and that this therefore makes it too difficult to get into the social media space. However market research and particularly the financial sector face similar codes of practice and legal restrictions so it was interesting to exchange experiences and discuss whether one sector's approach could be transferred across to the other.
